1860: The Helmshore Rail Tragedy - official book

To coincide with the memorial plaque which we hope will be in place by September 2022, we are also in the process of writing a book on the same subject.

Using original newspapers, witness testimonies and archived material from the time, we are bringing to life, for the first time since 1860, the truth behind one of the worst rail accidents in the early years of the steam railway age.

And as a special thank you to everyone who has donated to the memorial fund and who do not wish to remain anonymous, we will be printing all of their names in the book.

Release date – May 2022.
