In August 1957, Andrew and Elsie Marshall were a couple haunted by the growing fear of a new war and the terrifying specter of the H-bomb. They had reached a breaking point and the weight of an uncertain future became unbearable.
In a desperate attempt to shield their children—Sandra, age 10, Yvonne, age 9, and little Moira, just 5 – from the horrors they feared were inevitable, they made a fateful decision.
Late one night, the Marshalls ended their children’s lives, believing it to be a mercy.
Days later, they took their own lives, leaving behind a small, quiet town reeling from the darkness that had unfolded within its borders.
This is the real story of the Marshall family.
