For just over five weeks in the shadowy spring of 1869, the quiet streets of Daisyfield, Blackburn, became a place of growing dread. Whispers of the strange and the sinister swept through the town, as an unsettling series of events gripped the residents with fear. It would all come to a chilling head – of sorts – on the grim evening of Thursday, March 25th.
Blackburn, Union Buildings, once a humble row of cottages sheltering weary mill workers, has long since vanished – swallowed by time. But in that bleak winter’s end of February 1869, it became the epicentre of something unnatural.
Something malevolent.
