Louise Evans, 18, was found in Towneley Park in the early hours after sustaining multiple knife injuries and head wounds.

Despite attempts by paramedics to resuscitate her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Louise, who had been living at Calico’s Elizabeth Street Project hostel in Burnley, had died of multiple injuries.

Matthew Maw, 18 from Burnley, and Anthony Wood, 21, also of Burnley, were charged with the murder of Louise.
