On May 20, 1912, tragedy struck at Jubilee Mill, Blackburn, forever altering the lives of all who knew Alice Beetham.
Just 18 years old, Alice had been in a brief five-week relationship with 22-year-old Arthur Birkett.
And what began as a seemingly innocent romance quickly turned into a deadly obsession.
After ending relationship with Arthur’s, he confronted her at their workplace, Jubilee Mill. Consumed by anger and unable to accept her refusal, Arthur took Alice’s life in a horrifying act of violence.
This is the story of a young love that turned fatal, the tragic murder of Alice Beetham, and the haunting shadows left behind in the wake of that dark day at Jubilee Mill.
