Sixteen-year-old Ann Ratcliffe, a spirited girl blinded by love, stepped out from her home at the Blue Bell Inn (Ye Olde Blue Belle), Preston, Lancashire, believing she was embarking on the dawn of a new chapter, a life brimming with hope and possibility. Instead, her steps carried her toward a cruel and untimely fate that would extinguish her light forever.
