‘NO ONE LEAVES THIS HOUSE ALIVE!’: The Brewery Street Siege, 1958 // Blackburn

Loading

On the fateful night of Friday, December 12th 1958, death came quietly to number 8 Brewery Street, Blackburn – and the night when 27-year-old Henry King came calling.

Standing at the foot of the stairs, wild eyed and with a lost look in his eyes, he simply said, “Mrs. Bullen, I’ve come here tonight to kill your daughter.”

What transpired over the next three-and-a-half-hours would terrify a family and their friends as King lauded over them with a Browning automatic shotgun, telling them that no-one would be leaving the house alive.

This is the true and horrifying story of Sheila Agnes King, Detective Inspector James O’Donnell and Henry King and what is known as the Brewery Street Siege.
