Loading

On the evening of January 1st 1898, sixty-three year-old Ann Woods, was walking alone through a dimly lit area of Haslingden. Known as Pinner Lane, the lonely passagway would normally have taken her towards her home at nearby Commerce Street in Carrs.

But unknown to her, hiding in the darkness, was someone intent of doing her harm.

This, my friends, is the story of the murderous assault on Ann Woods, and how one crime would lead to another in such bizarre circumstances!
