Everyone, it seems, have heard of the Pendle Witch Trials of 1612. Perphaps many have even visited the ‘famous’ grave of Alice Nutter, one of the so called accused who was found guilty of witchcraft and sentenced to death at the Lancaster Assizes.

But, did you know that there is another grave of one of the accused? And this grave is in the village of Gisburn, more accurately, within the ground of St. Mary the Virgin!

This is the story of Jennet Preston and how she was implicated with the Pendle Witches and the subsequent trials of 1612.
